Bastian Books distributes books to the book trade in Canada. Here’s how the process works:

• Bastian Books is composed of books edited and produced for authors on a fee basis by Donald G. Bastian of Bastian Publishing Services Ltd.
• Books are chosen based on their saleability …
  • by the authors themselves through their companies, speaking engagements, and websites.
  • and in trade bookstores (independent stores and stores in the Indigo chain).
• Bastian Books, in working with its distributor, pays authors up to 35% of the list price of their books sold in bookstores.
• Bastian Books takes a 5% of list price commission on sales only after sales have recouped the author’s expenses in having the book edited, produced, and distributed.
• Authors work closely with Don Bastian, a proven publishing professional.
• Besides being available for sale in Canadian bookstores, books are made available for sale on www.amazon.ca and www.chapters.indigo.ca and through links to these etailers on authors’ websites.
• The distributor of Bastian Books -- Publishers Group Canada -- is one of Canada’s largest. It is owned by Raincoast Books, the Canadian publisher of the Harry Potter books.
